The aim of a conference is to continue an academic discussion about e-learning in higher education with a particular concern on the role of modern technologies which are implemented into teaching of economics.
The first conference dedicated to those issues, organised last year in the University of Economics in Katowice, aimed at presenting e-education and initiating a discussion about possible forms of cooperation in the area of supporting the didactic process with online education methods. One of important elements of the conference this year will be a presentation of results of that meeting. We would like the Warsaw conference to concern especially challanges which the academic environment has to face, ways of further development, the need of integration of institutions dealing with e-learning in Poland, good practices of coopearion and creating virtual universities - all those issues on the basis of close integration of modern technologies with traditional forms of teaching. Therefore, we expect that proceedings will be dedicated to individualisation of e-learning processes, supporting teacher's work with IT tools and also creating knowledge-based society and the role of e-education in the process of building that idea.
The conference is addressed mainly to academics who are involved in organising of the didactic process and managing a university. We also invite delegates from business environment, non-profit organisations and students interested in such problems.
Main issues of the conference recommended by the Programme Committee are as follows:
- Organisation of e-learning processes,
- Good practices of universities' cooperation in the area of online education,
- Challanges for higher education in the area of e-learning,
- Methods and technologies of e-learning,
- E-education in creating knowledge-based society,
- E-learning and knowledge management.
Although the domain of recommended issues is large, we would like to concentrate on an academic discussion covering most important issues and problems which people and centres developing e-learning processes and methods at universities or other institutions are facing. Thus, we would like to create a conference programme which will contain both interesting presentations and time for exchanging ideas among participants.
